Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 6 August 2026
Fabletide ("the Service") is operated by Narrative Systems ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17211958.
These are the product terms for Fabletide. They sit on top of the Narrative Systems App Terms, which apply to every app and service we publish and which form part of your agreement with us. Those studio-wide terms cover your account, general acceptable use, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, termination, and governing law. This page covers what is specific to Fabletide. Where the two differ on a Fabletide-specific point, this page applies.
On iPhone and iPad, your licence to use the Fabletide app is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. We do not publish a custom end user licence agreement, and nothing on this page replaces or varies Apple's.
By creating an account or using Fabletide, you agree to these terms and to the App Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who Can Use Fabletide
Fabletide is designed for children aged 5 to 12, used together with a parent or guardian. If you are under 13, a parent or legal guardian must read and accept these terms on your behalf, create the account, and supervise your use. The parent or guardian is the account holder for legal purposes. By creating an account you confirm that you have the authority to do so.
2. AI-Generated Stories, Pictures, and Narration
Stories, illustrations, and narration produced by Fabletide are generated by large language models and other automated systems. AI output can be unpredictable, occasionally inaccurate, or unexpected, even when filters and safeguards are in place. We apply content filters and age-appropriate guardrails, but we cannot guarantee that every generated output will be free of errors, omissions, or content you find objectionable.
Parental supervision is recommended at all times. Parental controls, including age bands and genre restrictions, are provided in the parent dashboard on paid plans. Profanity filtering applies to both what is submitted and what is generated, on every plan, and is not something that can be switched off.
3. What You Can Put In
In addition to the general acceptable use rules in the App Terms, you agree not to submit character names, descriptions, locations, or any other inputs that are profane, hateful, sexual, violent, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate for children, and not to attempt to work around the age-appropriate filters or content guardrails.
We may filter, refuse, or remove any content that breaks these rules, and may suspend or close accounts that do.
4. What You Submit
You keep the rights to the prompts, names, and descriptions you provide. By submitting them you grant Narrative Systems a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process them through our AI providers and to generate, store, and serve the resulting stories, illustrations, and audio back to you. You are responsible for the inputs you submit. Fabletide does not ask children for real names, addresses, photographs of their faces, or schools, and you should not submit them.
5. Stories You Create
You are free to read, save, download, and share the stories generated for your personal, non-commercial use. We do not claim ownership of the resulting story text. AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright in some jurisdictions.
6. Plans, Credits, and How You Pay
Each paid plan includes a monthly story quota. Story credit packs bought as a one-off do not expire and do not count toward that monthly quota; they stay on your account until used. A story draws on your monthly quota first, and only draws a credit once the monthly quota is used up.
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Who bills you, and who handles cancellations and refunds, depends on where you bought:
- Bought inside the Android app: Google is the merchant of record. Google bills you in your local currency, and you cancel or request a refund through Google Play. We cannot refund a payment we did not receive.
- Bought inside the iOS app: Apple is the merchant of record. Apple bills you in your local currency, and you cancel or request a refund through your device's App Store settings. We cannot refund a payment we did not receive.
- Bought on the Fabletide website: Narrative Systems is the seller of record and payment is processed by PayPal. Cancel any time before the next billing date in your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund eligibility, including a usage-capped 14-day money-back guarantee on a first subscription purchase, is set out in our Refund Policy.
A plan or credit pack bought on one platform is honoured on that platform only. We cannot move a store-billed subscription between Google, Apple, and website billing. Where consumer law where you live gives you a cooling-off period or a stronger right to a refund, that law applies.
7. Demo Access
Demo mode lets you try the first parts of a story without an account. Demo access is limited to one run per browser or device per 90 days. Stories created in Demo mode are not saved unless you create a free account before the demo paywall.
8. Privacy
Our handling of personal data, including what we collect, the third-party processors involved, retention periods, and your rights, is set out in full in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell personal data, and children's data is handled with extra care and minimisation in mind. The Privacy Policy is specific to Fabletide and is the one that governs this app on both the App Store and Google Play.
9. Everything Else
Account security, general acceptable use, our intellectual property, third-party providers, warranties and disclaimers, limitation of liability, suspension and termination, changes to terms, and governing law are all covered by the Narrative Systems App Terms and apply to Fabletide in full. Please read them alongside this page.
