Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

Fabletide ("the Service") are operated by Narrative Systems ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Who Can Use the Service

The Service is designed for children aged 5 to 12, used together with a parent or guardian. If you are under 13, a parent or legal guardian must read and accept these terms on your behalf, create the account, and supervise your use. By creating an account you confirm that you have the authority to do so.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your username, password, and any session credentials secure, and for all activity that takes place under your account. Provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date. You may not share your account or transfer it to anyone else.

4. AI-Generated Content

Stories, illustrations, and narration produced by the Service are generated by large language models and other automated systems. AI output can be unpredictable, occasionally inaccurate, or unexpected, even when filters and safeguards are in place. We apply content filters and age-appropriate guardrails, but we cannot guarantee that every generated output will be free of errors, omissions, or content you find objectionable. Parental supervision is recommended at all times, and parental controls are provided in the parent dashboard for paid tiers.

We may filter, refuse, or remove any content that violates these rules, and may suspend or terminate accounts that breach them.

6. User-Submitted Content

You retain rights to the prompts, names, and descriptions you provide to the Service. By submitting them you grant Narrative Systems a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process them through our AI providers and to generate, store, and serve the resulting stories, illustrations, and audio back to you. You are solely responsible for the inputs you submit.

7. Stories You Create

You are free to read, save, download, and share the stories generated for your personal, non-commercial use. We do not claim ownership of the resulting story text. AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright in some jurisdictions.

8. Subscriptions, Credits, and Refunds

Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time before the next billing date through your account settings; cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Story credit packs purchased one-off do not expire and do not count toward your monthly quota; they remain available on your account until used. Refund eligibility — including a usage-capped 14-day money-back guarantee on first subscription purchases — is set out in our Refund Policy.

9. Demo Access

The Demo mode lets you try the first parts of a story without an account. Demo access is limited to one run per browser per 90 days. Stories created in Demo mode are not saved unless you create a free account before the demo paywall.

10. Intellectual Property

The Fabletide names, branding, website, application, design, and platform code are owned by Narrative Systems and protected by copyright and trademark law. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you to use the Service, all rights are reserved.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers for AI generation, hosting, networking, payments, and email delivery. A list of the principal processors we use, and the categories of data shared with each, is published in our Privacy Policy. Use of the Service is also subject to those providers’ terms where applicable. We are not responsible for outages or behaviour of third-party providers beyond our control.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will meet your expectations.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Narrative Systems and its affiliates, contributors, and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 10 if no payment was made.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that abuse the Service.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Material changes will be flagged in the application or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

16. Privacy

Our handling of personal data - including data we collect, the third-party processors involved, retention periods, and your rights - is set out in full in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell personal data, and children’s data is handled with extra care and minimisation in mind.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the place where you reside as a consumer. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. For disputes not resolved through informal contact, jurisdiction lies with the competent courts of your place of residence to the extent required by law.
